Custom drawstring bags with your company logo
Custom drawstring bags are lightweight sacks that close by pulling two cords and are worn on the back. They weigh very little, fold down to fit in a pocket and are the usual giveaway bag for races, trade shows and company events.

EssentialA bag does not fail because of the fabric, it fails at the corners
Nearly all custom drawstring bags fail in the same place: the bottom corner where the cord runs through. If the cord pulls directly on the fabric, the first heavy book will tear the seam. That is why the real difference between a basic bag and one that lasts is not so much the fabric as the reinforcement: finished corners, metal eyelets and braided cord instead of flat tape. A reinforced bag costs a bit more, and you notice it the third time it is used.
The second decision is the fabric. Polyester, recycled or not, is lightweight, stands up to rubbing and folds away in seconds. Cotton, at around 140 to 180 g/m², feels better in the hand, can be embroidered and lasts longer as a gym bag. If you are unsure between a sack, a bag with handles or a backpack with a padded back panel, compare them with custom tote bags and custom backpacks.
Which fabric to choose
| Fabric | What it is like | Best use | Recommended branding |
|---|---|---|---|
| Recycled polyester (RPET) | Very lightweight, foldable and resistant to rubbing | Races, trade shows and large-scale handouts | Transfer in one or two colours |
| Polyester with reinforced corners | More structure and metal eyelets at the base | Gym, schools and everyday use | Screen printing or transfer |
| 140-150 g/m² cotton | Natural, soft and often recycled | Company events and welcome kits | Transfer or embroidery |
| Heavy cotton or canvas | More than 180 g/m², with reinforced seams | A gift that needs to last for years | Embroidery or transfer |
What you can personalise
The price on each product page includes one-colour branding in the standard print area; more colours or a second side are adjusted in the quote.
- Your logo on the front: branding of around 20 × 20 cm is visible from a distance without covering the whole front. The maximum print area for each model is shown on its product page.
- The bag colour, within the options offered for each model; on some, the cord comes in a contrasting shade.
- A second small print on the back or at the base: your website, the team name or the year of the event.
- The technique: screen transfer for flat colours, digital transfer for gradients and photographs, embroidery on cotton.
Common mistakes when ordering drawstring bags
- Assuming it will carry a laptop. A drawstring bag is for clothing, documents and light items; for a laptop, choose a backpack with a padded back panel.
- Choosing a bag without reinforced corners for everyday use.
- Forgetting about the cord. A thin cord digs into the shoulders as soon as the bag has weight in it; thick braided cord is much more comfortable.
- Embroidering a logo with very fine lines. Thread loses detail in lettering and lines of just a few millimetres.
- Using an ink with no contrast on natural cotton. The mock-up shows this before you pay.
- Ordering with the race date too close. Allow two or three weeks from the moment you approve the mock-up.
Where they work and what to pair them with
The drawstring bag is the usual carrier for any event where people end up with their hands full: internal races and tournaments, trade shows where brochures and samples are handed out, open days or training away from the office. Because it is light and folds flat, it is the most practical way for people visiting your stand to take everything away on their back. On a course or training session, each attendee gets their documents and gift in one simple pack. If you are planning the whole campaign, you will find the rest of the pieces in event merchandise.
They also work very well as the packaging for a kit: a sports bottle and a custom T-shirt inside the bag gives you an easy company race pack. If you need a welcome kit assembled and sent person by person, Pekata handles that with its Pekata welcome pack.

How we choose
The zip is the first thing to break.
In a backpack, the fabric almost never fails: it's the zip and the handle stitching that do. We check these two points before the design, because they determine whether the gift lasts a year or five.
- Branded zips with metal pullers
- Padded and measured laptop compartment
- Breathable back for everyday use
Drawstring Backpacks: the entire catalogue is branded in Europe, with delivery within the timeframe we agree with you.
The detail
Embroidery is the technique for backpacks.
On technical fabric, it withstands rain and friction better than any print. It costs more and it's worth it.
